This Men's kimono is one of the finest types of a summer asa kimonos, called 'jofu'. The kimono is assumed to be made in Satsuma area (current Kagoshima prefecture). The kasuri-woven pattern, 'kikko' pattern (turtle shell), is simple and subtle, yet the production of this type of textile takes an enormous amount of calculations and skills from the beginning to the end.
